Off-leash exploration in small, curated groups.
Book a Meet & GreetIn this industry, "small group" can mean 8–12 dogs per handler. Ours means 2–3. Your dog isn't a number in a pack — they're part of a carefully curated crew where I can focus on their individual needs, safety, and happiness. No chaotic pack dynamics — just a tight-knit group where each dog is known, not just managed.
Every dog is introduced one-on-one before joining a group — I take time to understand their personality before they meet their crew. Groups are then matched by temperament, energy, and play style. No random pairings — just dogs who genuinely enjoy each other's company.
We use only rewards-based methods — no force, fear, or intimidation. Every adventure is built on trust, treats, and genuine play. Your dog learns through positive experiences, not corrections or punishment. This builds lasting confidence, a real bond, and dogs who can't wait to hit the trail each week.
Individual crated transport — every dog travels in their own crate for a calm, stress-free ride. All hikes include a pet first aid certified hiker with a full kit, bear bells, and bear spray. GPS trackers ensure I always know where each dog is. When dogs do hike off-leash, that freedom is earned over time — never assumed.
Your dog gets a full hour on secluded forest trails alongside 1–2 compatible canine friends — running through ferns, splashing in creeks, and being unapologetically dog. Comes home happily spent — body tired, mind satisfied, ready to curl up for the rest of the day. Approximately 1.5–2 hours door-to-door. Minimum commitment of 1 weekly hike.
$60 + GST / hikeFor dogs 30+ lbs with reliable off-leash recall.
Your dog must have reliable recall or be actively working toward it.
For puppies aged 6-12 months whose owners are actively working on recall training, we offer our Puppy Bridge Program — 1-on-1 leashed hikes to build foundational off-leash skills before graduating to our off-leash Sniffaris.
A full hour of trail time in an intimate group, paired only with other small and medium-sized dogs for size-appropriate pacing and play. Scenic on-leash hikes with rich sensory experiences and plenty of time to sniff, socialize, and soak in the trail.
Long-lines available for dogs who want the feeling of off-leash freedom with the safety of staying connected.
Book a meet-and-greet — we'll walk your neighbourhood together so we can meet face-to-face, ask any questions, and make sure the fit is right. It's also where I get a feel for your dog's personality and energy in their own environment.
From there, I'll send over our client information form and services agreement, and we'll confirm the date of your dog's first adventure. After every hike, you'll get a detailed post-adventure report with photos and a map of our hiking route.
Katia has been incredible with our dog — he went from being uncomfortable leaving me to waiting at the window for her every week. She's thoughtfully matched him with walking buddies, and the transformation in his calm, confident behavior has been life-changing for our family.
— Karena & Fenrir
Katia has been a game-changer for our high-energy pup Emmy. Her detailed adventure reports — complete with photos, hike stats, and updates on Emmy's friendships — are something we genuinely look forward to every evening. The level of care and communication is truly unmatched.
— Sophia & Emmy
Lola is always excited to see Katia — their bond is genuine. Katia is incredibly reliable and consistently accommodating, even with last-minute schedule changes. If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional walker who truly cares, I can't recommend her enough.

After earning my Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting and Entrepreneurship, I chose a different path. I moved from Ottawa to Port Moody with my partner and our 3 cats for a life closer to the mountains, and PoMo Pup Adventures grew from that. Before founding it, I spent a year as a primary caregiver at Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary in Ottawa, caring for over 150 rescued animals. That work didn't just shape how I approach animal care — it's where my passion for working with animals took root. I'm a graduate of Karen Pryor Academy's Dog Trainer Foundations course and continue ongoing study in force-free training methods — because the science of how dogs learn is always evolving, and I want to keep evolving with it. I serve on the charity's board of directors and spend my mornings in the rainforest with some pretty incredible dogs. Honestly? I can't imagine doing anything else.
